The M23 rebels have taken control of the Bunagana-Tchengerero road Sinnce this morning of Sunday, June 12,2022.
At around 10h30 am, heavy fighting broke out in Busanza, Bigega and Kibaya districts, according to the Rwandatribune news source in Busanza.
M23 fighters clash with Rud Urunana rebels led by Cpt Nshimiyimana Cassie popularly known as Gavana and the fighting is taking place in the Busanza area which is normally controlled by Rud urunana.
The eyewitnesses say MONUSCO-linked government forces are trying to retake the Bunagana Church Road, which is controlled by the M23, with more than a dozen warheads sent to the area.
The fighting resumed two days ago when the M23 group announced that it could seize the town of Bunagana if it will be necessary.
