Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye reshuffled his government team on Thursday, presidential spokesperson Alain Diomède Nzeyimana announced on state television.
According to the press release by the spokesperson for the Burundian president, five new ministers are joining the reshuffled government for a total of 15 ministries in place.
Among the new Burundian ministers, are that of Interior, public security and community development, (Martin Ninteretse), Finance, budget and planning, (Audace Niyonzima), Environment, agriculture and Livestock, )Sanctus Niragira), Civil Service, Labor and Employment,( Déogratias Rusengwamihigo), Infrastructure, Equipment and Housing, (Dieudonné Dukundane).
The big names who are leaving the government are, in particular, the former Minister of Finance Domitien Ndihokubwayo as well as the one who was in charge of Agriculture Déo Guide Rurema.
This ministerial reshuffle comes the day after parliament approved the new Prime Minister, General Gervais Ndirakobuca.
The latter replaced General Alain Guillaume Bunyoni who had held this position since 2020.

The surprise dismissal of General Alain Guillaume Bunyoni came Wednesday morning, a few days after the head of state publicly declared that some of his collaborators, at the top of the state, were planning to remove him by putsch.
