Beltarnd Bisimwa, the M23’s Chief Political Officer, announced that the Government of Kinshasa continues to prepare for war, but M23 will not make the same mistake as it did in the past.
The M23’s Chief Political Officer, says that there are many signs, which emphasize how Kinshasa is preparing for war instead of participating in the process of dialogue leading to peace.
“When you look at how the FARDC is buying new and modern weapons including war drones, how many soldiers and mercenaries would be sent to the city of Goma and how the FDLR and other rebel groups formed in Wazalendo would be prepared, we as M23 we find that Kinshasa is aiming for nothing but war rather than participating in talks that lead to peace.” He said,
Beltrand Bisimwa, continued to say that despite this, the M23 movement will not make the same mistake as it did in the past and that it will not lay down its arms , if the DRC Government does not accept the talks.
He added that what the ARC/M23 group has put forward ,is the talks leading to peace, but if Kinshasa contue to reject the talks, M23 is ready to face all the attacks that State Forces and their partners are planning to launch .
Beltrand Bisimwa ,also continued to say that the today’s M23 is different from that of the past
, because it now has the ability to set policies and guidelines that must be respected regardless of what it demands.
