SADEC Mission chief, Major Gen. Monawbisi Dyakopu met with a group of FDLR soldiers to understand how to improve cooperation in military operations.
Rwandatribune.com was informed by one of the employees of Hotel Serena in Goma, who did not want his name to be published, saying that the Commander-in-Chief of the SADEC forces, known as SAMIDRC, received the FDLR delegation at the Serena Hotel located in Goma. The FDLR delegation came accompanied by DEMIAP investigative staff.
One of the officer-level soldiers working in the office of Operation Sokola II, testifies that this delegation included Brigadier General Gakwerere Jean Baptiste aka Sibo Stany, head of military cooperation in the FDLR/FOCA unit, , Lt.Col Rurakabije Pierre Celestin aka Guillaume Simba, head of the Unit CRAP (The Commando for Research and Action in Depth) special unit and Major Bizabishka, an Officer of the FDLR intelligence Department called J2.
However, even though they have announced this, the decisions made in the meeting are still being kept under wraps because neither the FDLR nor the SADEC side have announced the reasons for the meeting and the decisions made.
The mission of SAMIDRC started on 15/12/2023, consisting of troops from Malawi, Tanzania and South Africa, when these troops arrived in Congo, they were faced with problems including the deaths of three soldiers who were killed by an explosion of Bomb on 15/02/2024.
Another thing that is mentioned is the story of a soldier from South Africa who recently shot his comrades on March 1st, killing one and wounding others, but it is still not known why this soldier shot his comrades.
