Cassien Ntamuhanga, a Rwandan journalist and convict who escaped International Mpanga prison in October 2017 has been seen in Uganda under the country’s top security operatives protection RwandaTribune.com has exclusively learnt.
Our sources caught a glimpse of Ntamuhanga in Kampala City tightly guarded by notorious Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
This is while He had been reportedly gone missing for a couple of days from Mozambican Capital, Maputo where he sought asylum after breaking the prison.
Reliable accounts that we have reveal that Rwanda’s dissent, Kayumba Nyamwasa sent Ntamuhanga and one Frank Ntwari to Uganda as his messengers to meet Cpt Cassien Nshimiyimana who is also known as Governor, a renowned fighter for RUD URANANA militia group.
Their tête-à-tête meeting was facilitated by CMI operatives in a move to revitalize RUD URANANA which has been so far weakened by ceaseless attacks by the army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) through the operation dubbed Zakola-2.
Cpt Nshimiyimana is a commander in chief for RUD URUNANA special force which is known for its French acronym ‘CRAP’.
Congolese courts have issued arrest warrant for Nshimiyimana over war crimes that he committed in the country notably in Maliki Suburb from Lubero territory.
Commander in chief of RUD URUNANA militia group is General Juvenal Musabyimana who is also known as Jean Michel.
The group is member of ‘P5’, a coalition of anti-Kigali groups which include Nyamwasa’s RNC and FDLR to name a few.

Ntamuhanga was in 2015 sentenced to 25 years after he was found guilty of multiple crimes, including formation of a criminal gang, conspiracy against the established government, and complicity in a terrorist act.
He previously served as a journalist at a local radio.
