The PDI (Ideal Democratic Party ), announced that it will support the candidacy of President Paul Kagame in the presidential elections scheduled for 2024.
This was announced by the leadership of the PDI in a statement released on Sutarday, September 23, 2023.
“based on the decision from the meeting of our central assembly held in the city of Kigali, it was decided that if the president Paul Kagame submits his candidacy in the elections scheduled for 2024, PDI will support him in order to continue preserving the sovereignty of the country as well as the continued development of Rwandan as a whole”. PDI announced.
PDI, is an exemplary Political party in Rwanda, that was founded on November 30, 1991, whwn Rwanda was facing difficult times such as discrimination and divisions .
It was first established under the name of “Party for Islamic Democracy” and in 2003, it changed its name to “Ideal Democratic party “
Since RPF INKOTANYI liberated Rwanda in 1994, the PDI party has been determined to promote democracy, the interests of citizens as well as working in partnership with other political parties for the development of Rwanda.
In this regard, the PDI Party has decided to support the candidacy of President Paul Kagame in the 2024 elections, to ensure development, unity and security of Rwandan and other achievements of Kagame’s leadereship in general.
