The issue of foreign armed groups in the region was taken into account as part of the Nairobi process established last year to resolve the security crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
This reaction comes from the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Christophe Lutundula, in response to the accusations of the representative of Kigali, who accused Kinshasa of cooperating with the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR).
According to Christophe Lutundula, Head of Congolese diplomacy, the “FDLR” is a fallacious pretext for Rwanda to justify its presence in the DRC in violation of international law.
Although Christophe Lutundula said so, the DRC government has again launched attacks on the M23 group from yesterday 1 October 2023.
These are attacks launched by the government forces ( FARDC) with the help of the FDLR rebels who intend to disrupt the security of Rwanda, a rebel group that was founded by people who participated in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
The fact that the FARDC in collaboration with the FDLR rebels have again launched attacks on M23 , is another sign confirming that Kinshasa does not expect to end its relations with this group that aims to start a war in Rwanda.
On the other hand ,Christophe Lutundula, speaks hypocritically and shows that insecurty in Eastern DRC is caused by Rwanda while the State Army(FARDC), continues to work with and support the FDLR rebel group that wants to disrupt the security of Rwanda and Rwandans as well.
