The M23 fiercely appears at the entrance to Kitshanga after a week of withdrawal of its troops in this locality suddenly recovered by the FARDC and Wazalendo.
The M23 reappeared in the town of Kitshanga after intense fighting that broke out around 1 a.m. this Sunday.
At that time, the FARDC and the Wazalendo group had launched a large-scale offensive on M23 positions in the locality of Bwiza. An offensive which nevertheless turned out badly to the disadvantage of the FARDC-Wazalendo coalition.
The M23 managed to thwart the attack and instead engaged in a fierce counter-offensive which overwhelmed the FARDC-Wazalendo alliance all the way to the Kitshanga area.
According to Rwanda Tribune’s well-informed source in Kitshanga, the M23 has already neutralized the defensive positions of the FARDC and Wazalendo in the vicinity of the town of Kitshanga. An opportunity to achieve the next effective occupation of this town of Kitshanga, especially since the men of this Movement were not far from the place called Rond-point(Round about) with unprecedented dedication.
At the time of writing this information, fierce clashes were taking place around the town of Kitshanga and the M23 was gaining ground with most of this locality, while the elements of the FARDC and Wazalendo were inevitably proceeding with a notable withdrawal towards Mweso and elsewhere, indicates our source.
