Preparations by the Southern African Community (SADC) to send troops to the DRC for helping the state forces (FARDC) fight the M23 rebels, have begun to be implemented.
It is a report confirmed by the Ugandan newspaper Chimp report , saying that the SADC , has started sending military equipment to the DRC .
A part from these military equipments , Champ report reaveled that starting this week, SADC troops will also begin to be sent to the DRC, especially in the province of North Kivu, where the M23 rebels, are fighting against the government forces.
This happens while President Félix Tshisekedi’s government, announced that it no longer needs the East African Community Forces (EACRF), which it blames for failing to fight M23 and instead acting as a mediator.
At that time, President Tshisekedi also announced that MONUSCO troops should leave the DRC as soon as possible, and it is planned that the SADC along with Burundian troops, should immediately replace the EAC and MONUSCO in eastern Congo.
President Tshisekedi’s goal ,is to have the state forces(FARDC) join hands with the SADC and Burundian forces against the M23 rebels, unlike the EAC and MUNUSCO forces, who refused to fight against this rebel group , mainly consists of Congolese who speak Kinyarwanda.
