Another battalion of the Burundian army landed in the city of Goma, the capital of North Kivu, to reinforce the FARDC in the clashes with the M23.
According to the Rwanda Tribune source, the second battalion of the Burundian army was dispatched from South Kivu where the Burundian soldiers of the Task-Force unit are based and have been operating for more than a year in the mountains overlooking the Bijombo area in the territory of Uvira and Fizi.
By crossing South Kivu, these soldiers had the prior mission of neutralizing the rebel groups fighting the power of Gitega, among others the Red-Tabara and the FNL of General Aloys Nzabampema.
Therefore, information reveals that these Burundians are regularly redeployed to North Kivu to support Kinshasa in annihilating the M23 rebel movement.
Thus, the 8th battalion of the FDNB would be about to be embarked for Goma, and no later than this night of Friday October 27, 2023.
Another soldier from the Burundian army who requested anonymity for security reasons indicated that “a battalion which was operating in South Kivu was put ona boat for Goma this Thursday. The 8th Battalion is expected to carry out the same maneuver this evening. »
According to our sources, these Burundian soldiers are first and foremost dressed in Congolese FARDC army uniforms and then sent to Goma.
It should be noted that the event follows the deployment of Burundian soldiers in all the localities of South Kivu bordering Rwanda, in particular the localities of Ngomo, Kamanyola, Nyengenzi and I Djwi.
