The FDLR group withdrew its Fighters from the battlefield where they had gone to help the FARDC fight against M23 due to the fact that its soldiers were starving near to death.

It was a decision taken at the FDLR -FOCA  Head meeting held at its headquarters in Paris , Nyiragongo Territory on Sunday , August 28th , 2022, led by its Commander-in-Chief Maj Gen  Ntawunguka Pacifique known as Omega.

The news also  confirmed by one of the senior officials who were in the meeting whose names  did not being  published in direct interview with the Rwandatribune informer in Tongo.

The source of Rwandatribune says that the main reason of FDLR’s withdrawal of  its soldiers from the war was because their partner (FARDC) disappointed them by ignoring some of the terms of the cooperation agreement  signed at Pinga.  This agreement was mentioned that the FDLR group will send its soldiers  in return they will be given food, clothing and weapons in addition to medical treatment.

The FDLR group later fulfilled the agreement to send its fighters to the areas of Bukima, Rwankuba, Tchengerero Rugali and different places to start military operations lead by Lt Col Silencieux against M23.

The FDLR says that they had given as much as possible in Operations against M23 to conquer Rutschuru town, but FARDC   did not value it .“ A hundred of our Soldiers lost their lives in this battle against M23” Gen Omega Insisted.

Gen Omega whom was disappointed by FARDC commanders said the thing that discouraged them was that all the days they were fighting M23, the FDLR fighters went to find food from the people, but how to get medical treatment and money FARDC admitted  not yet to be done.

Among other things agreed by two sides in the Pinga agreement included immediate release of some  FDLR politicians imprisoned in Makala Prison, this also yet to be done.

The decision of the FDLR to withdraw the fighters from the war is following the FPP/AP group lead by Gen Kabido who also took that decision after seeing their fighters die in vain in the battle. The group of FPP/AP belongs to the Kobo tribe.

Our informer also said the areas where these groups are withdrawing, M23 is taking immediately Occupation.
