General Nsengiyumva Venuste Secyugu Gabral who was in charge of the G3 Military Operations in the FDLR was killed yesterday, October 23, 2020, the source of his death being a continuing conflict in the FDLR

Information from the Democratic Republic of Congo, North Kivu, Rutshuru Territory, Tongo Group, Butare Local Government confirms that General Nsengiyumva Secyugu Gabral was shot dead by a security guard on orders issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the FDLR rebels, General Ntawunguka Pacifique Omega.

In an interview with one of the leaders of the Tongo Group at the scene, our Tongo correspondent confirmed the news of the General’s death, saying that it was based on a recent dispute in the group where Gen Omega was not wanted, the former Chief of Staff on the side of Gen. Mudacumura , especially those who were born in Buganza (Byumba) and Nduga (south).

Most of them are in the so-called ABADUSUMA section (and FDLR fighters from Congo Brazzaville where they had come from to help the rebels who overthrew President Pascal Lisouba

General Nsengiyunva Secyugu Gabral, who was in charge of the ESSO School for Young Officers, was based in Kirama, and two days ago he received a message from the Commander-in-Chief of E3 Military Operations (G3), which Gen Secyugu was already well aware of. of the list of generals to be killed because he was a Sovereign and was a close friend of Gen Mudacumura and Gen. Byiringiro the President of the FDLR.

Who was General Secyugu?

General Secyugu, whose real name is Nsengiyunva Venuste, better known as Secyugu Gabral, was born in 1962 in the former sector of Bugarura,ex Muhura district, ex Byumba province and is now in Gatsibo District. He is from great family of the Secyugus in Muhura, he joined the EX FAR military in 1989, when the RPA forces invaded the country Gen Secyugu entered the 30th ESM Military Academy.

when EX FAR was defeated and fled to Zaire, Secyugu held the rank of Lieutenant, where he continued in Congo Brazzaville and fought on the side of President Denys Sasu Ngweso in a group led by Col Mugaragu, overthrowing Pascal Risuba.

In 1999 Gen. Secyugu joined the army of Laurent Desire Kabila as a soldier in the Congo where he commanded the 88th Battalion, and in 2004 he joined the FDLR under the command of the HORIZON Army Brigade, from 2009 to 2020. In October, he ran the ESSO School of Junior Officers, a three-day G3 management position.
