In Kicukiro District, Kanombe Sector, Kabeza Cell in Juru Village, 52 affordable houses have been inaugurated under the See Far Housing Ltd project. The event, which took place on Saturday, July 9, 2022, was attended by various stakeholders including   Kigali City , the management of See Far Housing Ltd and other stakeholders.

These homes will be housed in different categories built into different categories including one-room, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom. One room will cost 20 Million Rwanda Francs  and a four-bedroom house will cost 95 millions Rwandan Francs.

SFH Ltd’s operations manager, Eric Kalisa Salongo said that through interaction with various banks, those who want to live in these buildings have a designated way to make it easier to pay. “In an effort to make it easier for Rwandans, we have chosen to build houses in different categories, including those that you have with separate rooms so that everyone in their category can afford to buy a house to the best of their ability,” he said.

He went on to say that the fact that the company is doing a good job of calming the people is very different. “Apart from the fact that we are involved in solving the housing problem in Kigali City. We employed more than 250 workers a day, and you feel that we are contributing to their development,” he said.

This program advocates for the Government of Rwanda to provide affordable housing

The Deputy Director General of Rwanda Development Board(RDB), Zephanie Niyonkuru, said that in the field of construction there is a government program to attract investors to invest in Rwanda. “In each case, the people have, for the first time, been offered a chance to vote. This increases the number of homes needed. “

He called for more cooperation between the government and the private sector in investing in Rwanda, in which the government provides protection for the development of the people and the development of the country’s economy”.

The Vice Mayor of the City of Kigali in charge of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mr Merard Mpabwanamaguru said residents needed housing but would also save land for future residents and other activities.

“As the city of Kigali we are campaigning for investors to invest in building more affordable housing for low-income households,” he said.

Homes that are built in this way are intended for first-time home-owners and are based on the income and ability to care for them when they first start living in them. In partnership with the Government of Rwanda, See Far Housing Ltd expects to have completed the construction of 250 small houses by 2024 in addition to these.
