The Rwanda Social Security Service (RSSB), has highlighted the achievements of the 2022/2023 budget year, where the contributions of Rwandans increased from 163.7 billion in the 2021/2022 budget year to 353.0 billion in the 2022/2023.

The director general of the National Social Security Agency in Rwanda, RSSB, Rugemanshuro Regis, says that Rwandans are now able to do service for themselves using technology, which is the main reason for the increase in their contributions.

“The increase in contributions was due to the fact that now every Rwandan can easily access our services using technology. Also, there is a lot to be done in order to choose investment companies and reduce the cost to the profit. ’’Said Rugemanshuro Regis.

Rugemanshuro continues to say that due to the fact that the member follows the service and his contributions are given in the National Social Security Agency in the form of technology, he is able to know the status and that it reduces the time he spends going to find these services at the RSSB.

The Deputy General Director of RSSB, Dr Regis Hitimana, says that currently a person can know his contributions by using a mobile phone and whether he has been given a contribution or not.

“For example, we have 1000 clinics that use the treatment system, before it took 93 days for their files to be paid but now for hospitals that use this method in 15 days they are returned but in general we are on average 35 days”. Said The Deputy General Director of RSSB, Dr Regis Hitimana.

The Webside known as “Imisanzu” wich mean “Contributions”  that helps Rwandans to access the service, was launched on January 31, 2023  in order to solve the problem of members who were traveling long distances  searching for information about social security services.
